The Housing Authority of Bergen County is pleased to announce that pre-applications are now being accepted from income eligible senior citizens and special needs households for 30 units located at 29 Caldwell Avenue, Saddle Brook, NJ. Of the 30 total units, twenty-four (24) will be for senior citizen households, and six (6) will be for special needs households.

Beginning, TUESDAY, JUNE 11, 2019 at 9:00 am pre-applications will be available online only at www.habcnjwaitinglists.org.

The first 125 completed and eligible pre-applications received electronically will be accepted. Pre-applications received after the first 125 will be declined. The waiting list will close after the receipt of 125 completed, eligible pre-applications and will remain closed. You are encouraged to complete your pre-application as soon as possible, as it will be placed on the waiting list based on the date and time that it was received.

For those who need assistance obtaining access to or completing a pre-application the Housing Authority will make staff available at our main office One Bergen County Plaza 2nd Floor, Hackensack, NJ 07601 and the Saddle Brook Senior Center located at 8 Caldwell Ave, Saddle Brook, NJ 07663. Staff will be made available to assist with the completion of pre-applications beginning June 11th from 9:00 am until 3:30 PM, as needed until 125 pre-applications are received and deemed eligible.

In order to be eligible to apply, at least one applicant must be 55 years of age or older. The maximum household size cannot exceed two people. The total household annual gross income cannot exceed the following income and occupancy limits:

Priority residency in all FRM projects shall be given to qualified Sandy-impacted residents that were displaced by and/or experienced major or severe damage from Superstorm Sandy until 90 days after construction completion.

In addition, applicants who live, work, train, or attend school in Bergen County will be given preference.

Pre-applications not selected for initial lease up will be time stamped and placed on the waiting list in the order in which they are received by the Housing Authority of Bergen County.
